The 56th annual meeting of the Wesleyan Theological Society, originally scheduled for 11–13 March 2021 on the campus of Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, CA, has been cancelled as an in-person event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will now be held as an online meeting on the same dates.
The theme for the meeting remains the same: “Reading Scripture, Doing Theology: A Wesleyan Witness in Today’s World.” The keynote speaker will be Joel Green (Fuller Theological Seminary) and the WTS Presidential Address will be given by Joy J. Moore (Luther Seminary).
As the online meeting will be in a different format from the normal WTS assembly with fewer papers given, the call for papers for the 2021 meeting has been cancelled. In order to give anyone who had planned to submit a paper for the meeting the opportunity to have it published and share their scholarship, a special edition of the Wesleyan Theological Journal devoted to the theme of the conference is being planned for publication in Spring 2022.
If you have a paper you had planned to submit for the meeting, please send that paper to Jason Vickers at firstname.lastname@example.org by 1 June 2021 to have it considered for inclusion in the special edition of the journal.
